Helena Quintas

PhD in Education Sciences, she is a Professor at the University of the Algarve.

Throughout a career of almost 40 years, she has taught in Teaching Education and Education Sciences programmes in undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees, in which she has lectured Curriculum Development, Evaluation and Assessment, Educational Management and Schooling Administration, as well as Adult Education. She has supervised approximately 40 master dissertations and PhD thesis. As a researcher, she has participated in several national and international projects, and has published books and papers in scientific journals.

She directed the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences undergraduate and master’s degrees in Education Sciences.

Her curriculum includes a large activity in continuous teaching education programmes, in cooperation with Teacher Training and School Association Centres (CFAE).

She is a consultant, specialist and external expert in national projects of the Ministério da Educação, such as the National Plan for Promotion of Educational Success (PNPSE), the Educational Territories for Priority Intervention (TEIP), and the system for External Evaluation of Schools (AEE), under the Inspeção Geral da Educação e Ciência (IGEC).
