Jean-Christian Houde

Born in Québec, Canada, Jean-Christian Houde graduated from The Montréal Conservatoire with a masters degree in 2003.
During his study he was awarded the 'Timi' solo prize and scholarship aswell as the 'Festival de musique du Royaume' solo prize. After completing his studies Jean-Christian worked as Assistant Principal double bass in the  'Orchestre Symphonique du Saguenay Lac St-Jean' as well as enjoying a wide and varied freelance carreer working with orchestras such as: 'The Montréal Symphony Orchestra' and 'The Montréal Métropolitain Orchestra'.  He composed and performed music for 'Le théatre Incliné' and was also a founder member of the successful jazz trio 'Al Dente'.
Since 2005, Jean-Christian has been playing Principal Double bass for the Orquestra do Algarve, now named Orquestra Clássica do Sul.
