Thomas Gomes was born in 1987, in France, and began his musical studies in 2000 at the regional music conservatory of Gaia in the class of Professor Hélder Vales. While a student at the conservatory in Gaia, he also studied with Eddy Thauber, Philip Mcguire and Joaquim Vidal.
In 2003, he entered the Escola Profissional de Música de Espinho in the class of Professor Abel Pereira. In the E.P.M.E, Thomas worked with several professors within the chamber music field, such as Severo Martinez, Aldo Salvetti, Luís Carvalho, Nélson Alves and Dawid Seidenberg.
In 2006, he entered the course of Orchestra Instrumentalist at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, also in the class of Professor Abel Pereira. While a student at the A.N.S.O., he worked with professors within the orchestra and chamber music fields, such as Adélio Carneiro, Paulo Pacheco, Jêrome Arnouf, Reinaldo Guerreiro and Jean-Marc Burfin.
Thomas attended several master classes with professors like Bodhan Sebhastik, António Costa, Nigel Black, Jonathan Luxton, Abel Pereira, Ricardo Matosinhos, Froydis ree wekre, Hermann Baumann, Ab Koster and Radovan Vladkovitch.
He started playing in professional orchestras at the age of 17 in the Filarmonia das Beiras. Thomas has played with several orchestras, among which Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra Gulbenkian, Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, Orquestra do Algarve and Remix ensemble.
He participated in tours in Brazil, South Africa, Spain and France. From conductors and soloists, we point out Michael Boder, Michael Zilm, Marc Tardue, Christoph Koning, Emilio Pomárico, Pedro Neves, Peter Rundel, Pedro Carneiro, Christian Lindberg, Ivan Monighetti, Boris Berezovsky and Filipe Alves
.In 2011, Thomas teached at the Academia de Música do Fundão.
From 2009 to 2010, he participated in the Mahler Academy.
Thomas Gomes is a founding member of the Portuguese Horn Ensemble.
He is currently soloist B at Orquestra Clássica do Sul.
